Holiday Inspiration

With the holiday season upon us, this is proving to be a very busy time of year for the jewelry business! Fortunately, I was able to attend our local gem show this weekend and stocked up on new stones!

Natural plums and aqua blues, complemented by golden yellows are what's inspiring me right now.

And here's what I made during my Thanksgiving break using some of my new rocks. A pair of sweet bird and crown earrings...

and this delicate lock and key. (These already sold before I could write this blog post!)

I found this antique French military medal, dated 1809(!), at a brocante during my trip to Paris earlier this fall. I hand-stitched its tattered ribbon to a silvertone bar to create a wearable pendant.

And I love the elegance of this sterling silver bird flying below a vintage gold-filled watch, accented by flowers and the colours of nature.

More earrings, these are real holiday sparklers! I'm thinking they would be perfect for New Year's Eve!

This romantic necklace features a sterling silver angel pendant and vintage gold-filled heart locket, as well as sugary lilac zircon and earthy tiger's eye.

Finally, for the Francophile on your holiday shopping list (maybe that's you?), this statement piece celebrates souvenirs from Paris and Nice, and the deep reds and blues of France.

All of these will be available in my Etsy shoppe throughout the week (with the exception of those key earrings - thank you, Nicole). :)

I will also be doing a show on Saturday to benefit friend and local boutique owner Moe Munroe in Burlingame, so if you see anything you like, please let me know! :) Until next time -

Happy Thanksgiving!

There is abundance all around for which to be thankful if we just take the time to recognize it.

Art, creativity, love, inspiration... these are the riches I hold dear.

Riches and and abundance don't always come in the form of silver and rubies...

This year I am grateful for my family and friends; good health;

the fact that my little jewelry business is starting to take off, and a regular 'day' job that allows me flexibility;

a little niece that will be arriving in February;

the green bean casserole simmering in my oven as I write this, and mom's chocolate dipped cookies that we'll get to indulge in this evening;

and all the other artists, designers, bloggers, and creative souls who continue to inspire me.

What are you thankful for this holiday season?

Getting Ready

Bonjour, mes amis! Just a quick post today to show you what I've been up to in my studio. I'm getting ready for the Vintage Arts Market I'd told you about in my last post, as well as what is already turning out to be a busy season on Etsy. My parents came over yesterday and brought me an early holiday gift - a new Dremmel (power drill and press)! I feel like there will be no stopping me once I learn how to use it - lol! What are you dreaming of this time of year?

And here are more details about the show. Please stop by and visit if you're in the area! :)
