At Home with Moi

My blog-writing job is a cake walk tonight, thanks to my good friend Sharon who visited from Colorado about two weeks ago. She was kind enough to write a beautiful story about me and my home studio on her blog, The Teacup Incident. I really encourage you to check it out - her photography is gorgeous and while you're at it, you may enjoy her sketches and recipe ideas!

I joked with her that she made my life look much more glamorous than it actually is! ;)

Here are some new pieces I completed this week for The French Circus.

This necklace is a custom triple-wrap with detachable cameo pendants.

And I've been having so much fun creating pendants with resin! Special thanks to my dad for printing out the images so I could place them in vintage frames.

This light-hearted necklace pays tribute to Joan of Arc and the Statue of Liberty - just in time for the 4th of July!

Sparkling Paris earrings...

This rhinestone pendant features another prayer card image, accented with silver tones and blue apatite.

These earrings were already spoken for by the time I could write this post! I love playing turqouise off black and white... modern yet timeless.

Finally, a handsome piece I call 'the duchess' featuring a dimensional cameo and rhinestones set in goldtone.

I hope you've enjoyed seeing my new pieces as well as the little tour of my home and studio. Many thanks again to Sharon! Have a wonderful week, mes amis! :)

I'm Hooked!

I cannot tell you how many people have asked me about these sterling silver hooks that I've been using in my jewelry designs over the past couple of years! So, I decided to ask a silversmith to custom make some more for me so I could offer them for sale in The Paris Carousel.

I call it 'world's most elegant hook' because I'm pretty sure it is! It also got me to thinking about what other things I'm incessantly hooked on!

When my good friend Sharon was visiting from Colorado the other day, I served these delish chocolate macaroons from Trader Joe's. If you close your eyes while eating them you think you're in a Paris teahouse! ;)

I'm also hooked on vintage jewelry, of course, and have been buying it up by the caseloads for future designs.

I will never tire of the juxtaposition of light aqua and brass...

The antique Czekoslovakian glass beads in this piece are swoon-worthy!

And I'm certainly hooked on vintage rosaries! These crosses are made of celluloid and are from around the 1930s.

And I know I'm not alone when I report that I'm hooked on the PBS series 'Downton Abbey'. Since it's on summer hiatus right now, I made myself a little tribute necklace to tide me over...

I call this one 'dinner at downton' since I think it would go perfectly well with a drop-waist chiffon number by the candlelight of that grand table!

Finally, it goes without saying that I'm hooked on all things Paris! This choker-style necklace positively sparkles like the starlit Parisian sky!

Thank you for indulging me in my current (and timeless!) obsessions. What kinds of things are you hooked on right now?

Simply Fobulous

With summer in full swing, I wanted to offer some pared-down pieces this week - jewelry lite if you will.

I call these earrings 'simply fobulous' because I designed them to resemble antique watch fobs. They are lightweight and versatile enough to wear every day.

This bracelet is also delicate yets packs a statement with its antique ribbon which reads, 'Society of our Lady of Lourdes', vintage cross, medals and garnets.

And this classic pearl necklace is another tribute to my favourite city - Paris!

All of these pieces are currently available at The French Circus.

Please also remember to visit my supplies shoppe, The Paris Carousel for more good things in small packages.

Silver-plated fleur de lis for your own creations...

crystal bezel chain...

and sparkling vintage bracelets.

Have a wonderful week, mes amis! :)
