Patina
I'll be the first to admit I'm kind of fickle. I often flit from one design aesthetic to another; I could be craving 'I Love Lucy' circle skirts one month, and steampunk pantaloons the next. But one thing always remains true: my style must have a vintage derivative. Last week I was favouring bright colours and florals in an effort to accelerate the coming of spring in the rainy bay area. Now, I'm finding myself drawn to more neutral shades and rich patinas (perhaps I've just given in to the weather). I'm loving the juxtaposition of textures: a sparkly rhinestone piece next to some oxidized brass, polished pearls with tarnsihed silver, a brilliant gemstone with wooden beads. What inspires you this time of year?
Beautiful creations. Have not been working on jewelry much lately with other things going on, but plan to in the next couple of days.
