Roman Holiday
I'm now officially a self-employed full-time jewelry designer! My last day at work was bittersweet and I'm sure I'll miss a lot of the people, but am looking forward to my new adventures in jewelryland.
It almost feels like I'm on holiday - one where everything glitters in shades of silver, bronze and rhinestone.
I started my new life off with a trip to the local bead show (perfect timing!), and found some yummy citrine, pearls, garnets and lots of findings for my new wholesale endeavors.
I also managed to make a few new pieces for The French Circus on Etsy. 'postcard from rome' features a vintage Italian postage stamp encased in sterling silver and glass. I tried to complement its pinky-red colour with varying shades of agate and tourmaline.
How cool are these 'orbit' earrings? Made from 1950s supersonic planetary rhinestone disco balls, they are positively three-dimensional and perfect for all those upcoming holiday parties!
My new mother of pearl 'our lady victory' bracelet will go with everything in your wardrobe this season.
And I had to count my lucky starts when I found this vintage celluloid shoe pocket knife at the flea market last weekend!
I almost called this piece 'ain't that a kick in the head' (for you fellow Dean Martin fans), but went with the more refined 'edwardian shoe' instead. ;)
To create these earrings, I suspended bronze Infant of Prague charms from delicate chain and blue quartz, above a cradle of rhinestones.
I hope to bring you lots of new designs in the coming weeks now that I'll be doing this full-time! Also coming to my shoppe soon will be gift certificates - just in time for the holidays!
Until next time, have a beautiful week, mes amis! :)
Congratulations! How wonderful for you to be able to make your delicious jewelry full time. Love "Postcards From Rome" and "Kick in the Pants" er, wait, what was your more refined title? :)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations and wishing you much success!!
ReplyDeleteRemind who every buys the shoe necklace not to wear it when going thru security checks. :D
Enjoy your week.
