Transitioning
This time of year, as summer gives way to cooler and shorter days, it feels like a good time for transitioning.
I have been getting ready for a busy fall season ahead by reorganizing my home and studio, and streamlining some routines. I always 'create' best when my life feels simple and tranquil.
I've also been playing with a mix of colours, combining soft pastels with vibrant tones of gold and coral. Just like transitioning our wardrobes, this is a time for layering and resourcing both cool and warm elements.
As I watch my niece transition from baby to toddler, I am also reminded of sweet cherubs and offer a few of them here for you...
Isn't it romantic?
Have a beautiful week, mes amis! :)

Girls and Pearls
Years ago, when I fancied myself quite the 'mod' fashionista, I fell in love with a Mademoiselle magazine feature entitled, 'Girls and Pearls', and had cut all the photos out and taped them inside my closet to inspire me when putting outfits together!
I've since had a soft spot for the creamy white spheres, whether long and lean, like the flapper styles Coco Chanel popularized, or chunky and baroque. Here I offer you my version of 'girls and pearls', including an old glass portrait...
garnets and cherubs...
sterling silver swans on a 'pond' of aquamarines...
a very special 19th century meerschaum...
and beautiful shell cameo...
I'm pretty sure pearls are a girls' second best friend! ;)
Thank you for stopping by! <3 Robyn
