Lazy Days of Summer

With these last few days of summer upon us, everyone I know seems to either be on vacation or in 'lazy' mode... myself included!


The weather has been so gorgeous, I've just wanted to be outside and as a result, haven't gotten much jewelry made this week!


One thing I did manage to complete is this special order triple-wrap necklace. My sweet customer entrusted me with her own gorgeous cameos. Isn't the one with the diamond in the centre to die for?


The cameo segment can be detached if she prefers a simpler necklace one day.



I've also been dreaming up a new line that I plan to call 'parisian pearls', featuring vintage glass pearls. I love the combo of their creamy smoothness mixed with rough gemstones and old pendants, kind of a modern spin on the flapper necklaces of the 1920s.

Vignettes

I recently had the idea to create little vignettes to display my latest jewelry offerings, and to provide fun decorating ideas. Here's what I've been up to this week...


I'm loving a 'beachy chic' look right now, featuring the colours of water and sand, natural textures and a casual feel, so this was the inspiration for this vignette featuring seashells, a rustic candelabra and vintage postcard of a girl by the sea. Of course, my new 'atlantic city' double-wrap necklace fit right in!







Next we have one of my all-time favourite themes - Marie Antoinette! Here she is in miniature size stepping out from a French storybook and showing off my 'sterling crown' choker.
