Feeling Playful

They say if you do what you love, you'll never work a day in your life, and this is exactly how I feel when I'm making jewelry! The fun really comes into play when I have lots of bits and pieces at my disposal, to fit together like a puzzle, and tell a story...

This week, my playfulness was in full 'swing' with these whimsical themes, including this vintage celluloid brooch (turned bracelet) literally featuring a girl on a swing.

Birds in flight...

These earrings remind me of circus tents, with Mexican milagros and vintage medals hanging from them.

Assembled from antique watch parts, this statement necklace celebrates our country's democracy and our right to vote, regardless of which side of the upcoming election you may be on. ;)

And last, but not least, I've named this piece 'miss judy's purse'. I just love giving personalities to old tintype images, and just look at how cute this little French silver purse is!

Orignally housing a calendar inside, it retains one of its pages from 1913!

Thank you for stopping by to play with me. I hope you have a fun weekend! :)

Hope to get my supplies back out soon. I need to get caught up on somethings around here this weekend.

  2. You must have been in heaven this week playing with all those great finds! I like Miss Judy's purse because the wearer could swap out the calendar for a secret note or photo :)
