All That Glitters

Can you believe Thanksgiving is just around the corner?  This year is flying by, and there have been lots of changes in my life, but one thing remains constant:  my love of vintage jewelry!  Lol!

This week I've been inspired by the rich golden hues of autumn and have incorporated lots of gold and warm silvers into the mix.  This gorgeous mourning cameo heart pendant is actually a clay reproduction of an original Victorian gutta percha piece, created by my good friend Danette Darbonne of French Queen's Ransom.  She has this and other fabulous supplies in her shoppe, so please check it out!  Danette was gracious enough to allow me to create a necklace using one of her first castings...

I am always taken in by pendants featuring historical women, such as Joan of Arc and the Virgin Mary!

Gold, anyone?  ;)

Please stay tuned next time for a very sparkly new collection I'm dreaming up, perfect for the holidays, and news of another project I'm working on.  (Fingers crossed that it goes as planned!)  :)  Have a beautiful week, mes amis!  :)

Shades of Autumn

With the fall foliage turning comforting shades of gold and red, I was inspired to create this week's jewelry pieces featuring just such colours.

Rich ambers and berries in the form of citrine, garnet, ruby and amethyst accent classic themes like crosses, hearts and flowers.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by and I hope you're enjoying the changing leaves in your own backyard!  <3

The Leaves of Brown

The leaves of brown came tumbling down / Remember, in September, in the rain / The sun went out just like a dying ember / That September, in the rain*
Though it thankfully hasn't been raining in my area this week, the days are getting shorter and there is a bit of crispness in the air.
As a result, my jewelry designs are turning toward the melancholy that fall brings for me. Warm shades of amber and amethyst
mix with mother of pearl and shades of blue, like the misty skies.
I'm still loving bronze, mixed with rich jewel tones like garnet and sapphire.
A sweet bracelet featuring flowers, rosary connectors, and a rhinestone leaf, remind me of taking a stroll in a tranquil garden.
And here, a vintage celluloid sparrow brooch softly blends with old mother of pearl rosaries and rhinestones for subtle allure.
What has you inspired now that the leaves are turning brown?

Oh, Deer!

Today feels like the official start of autumn for me. Until now, our Indian summer weather has been gorgeous, but today there is a sharper chill in the air and light drizzle. I was looking forward to a cozy day indoors, working on new jewelry creations in preparation of a busy holiday season and when I opened my curtains this morning, guess what I was greeted with?! A family of four deer - mother, father and two babies staring at me through the dining room window!

I apologize for the poor photos - I took them through the window and the deer kind of camoflauge in with the trees, but if you look closely you will actually see three deer in these pictures.

Bye, bye, Dears! :)

And here's what I've been working on in the studio this week. Lots of colourful jewels to brighten up the cold months ahead, along with rich medals, cameos and just the right amount of bling.

All of these will be available by this evening in my Etsy shoppe. Thank you for stopping by and have a lovely weekend! :)
